Just replaced my Dosio Piombi( flat bit one end shot remover other) with a Preston Stotter for my Stotz, what a difference in putting them on, the lever applies just the right pressure and the nice flat surface presses them firmly, no more movement. The getting off is a bit more difficult as you have to line up the slot along the edge that opens it, not like the Dosio where the sharp bit opens the end quite easily, will have to practice that a bit. I dare say some of the guys are now experts.

The idea with the stotta is that it flattens the Stotz where they split so you are left with a thin film of lead and you pull the line through it dosen't always work though gone back to the leverpiombo for removal much better.

| Never been able to get a stotz of the line with the Stotta Jeff, so just bought one of those piomba thingys. I use them both, the Stotta is great for putting them on and the piomba for taking them off. There was a thread on here a couple or so weeks ago,but can't find it now. |
When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation. |

Seems marmite to me. Some love um, some hate um.
Mine work's perfectly - either mines a better design or I can use it (and it isn't difficult). |

| Mine works perfectly too, although I think I may have got one a the early ones to come out. Think that the more modern ones don't work as well. |

Thanks guys, I'll practise, the other thread is on Tackle Talk Bill, just found it, may carry both for now as you do, but the Stotz have become shinier and sometime harder,, think they maybe source differently at time but I still think they are brilliant now I've got fumble fingers! I have found some 13's as well because our home made float need an odd one for setting now and again, not tell tale, too fine, 12 minimum for that. |
