Can anyone tell me the pros and cons of a barbel rod and a feeder rod. And if possible tell me a good rod to use for small barbel (the cheaper the better)

Well, unfashionable and non U they may be but my John Wilson Avon and John Wilson Barbel are both capable fishing rods that handle decent fish with ease. They're not expensive for what they are. I expect someone will come along shortly and extol the virtues of a badge engineered rod.

It's only the hairs on a Gooseberry that stop it from being a grape.

Any Avon rod around 1.75lb TC will do, if you get one with a quiver carrier around 2-6oz ish tips itll be a very versatile bit of kit for general feeder fishing too

Give a man a fish, and you'll feed him for a day; give him a religion, and he'll starve to death while praying for a fish

My mate swears by his wilson avon quiver, £50 or less for what is proberbly one of the best selling rods of all time. If it was a bag`o`sh*te it would not be selling as well now as it did when it came out.

John, all of the rods you are looking at will be more than up to the job. I can vouch for fox as i have a couple of fox rods that are realy well made and i cant fault them.
