Had a superb day on saturday at mote park.

Over the last year the mote has fishes very poorly and everyone seemed to be writing the water off including myself.

I fished the waggler at about 2 rod lengths out hoping to catch maybe 10-20lb of roach but ended up with one of the best days fishing ever.

I had a netter a roach within 10 seconds of the first cast on maggott then every cast produced a bite and i was catching roach and hybrids in the 6oz to 1lb mark.

I decided to put a few balls of groundbait in and this resulted in my first bream of around 5lb and i started to catch the odd further bream in between the roach and hybrids.

I ended it up with around 60-70lb in 6 hours fishing which included about 30 hybrids some roach and 10 bream between 2 and 5lb and alone 2lb tench.

A superb days fishing from a natural lake and no one seems to know where all these hybrids have come from as we,ve never seen this amount in there before.

I can only think if i had taken my pole and box and i stayed a bit longer i could of done a ton easily the fishing was non stop ,the more bait you fed the more manic the fishing got it really was a red letter day and i will be back.

lots of hybrids like this

a lone tench

Nice to see a tench come out.

I fished it Friday and had a good net of Roach and Hybrids on the wag and maggot on the cafe side.

Is always the same every year, the fishing is poor from late October till July then it fishes really well all summer.
