This is the new fancy black and gold Okuma.MIne is the front drag with a double handle. Didn't get on with Okumas some years ago (my pal has had his since they come out!)
Decent match spool with a pair, around £29.
Works well though a little stiff compared to my other reels (Daiwa, Mitchell)but assume it will loosen up with use. At first use seems very good and as I cast frequently with the waggle I think it will stand up to the abuse. Got used to the double handle and now like them, the drag (which I always use, is ok if not as good as Daiwa) Report further when use heavily in the summer jeff

I have a great fondness for okuma reels after first buying a cheap sea reel £19.99, Still going strong after 6 years of abuse. I have a couple as spare feeder reels £12 from carboot sale..So £29.99 for an okuma should be quality. I know they make a lot of other reels for various companies, They have been around for a while and do make good reels. |

Okuma site is American and Svendson sports site who do them in U.K.is under construction but this one on Ebay gives you some idea and is the cheapest, Alan's angling is ok. Ordered another from my pal who owns local tackle shop but he hasn't had it it delivered yet!Think ebay shops bought them all.

I have three Carbonite M2 spools going cheap now but have had difficulty finding anyone with one. They must have sold because the shops can't get them from Svenson Sports now and there ws a fair few. |

Sorry for dragging up an old thread but do you still have these? If you do how much are you asking for them? Thanks |

Reply to both, yes I do have the carbonite M2 spools and I guess a couple of quid each plus postage would satisfy, I think I have four now. Just look I have three. Let me know. I don't know if they fit any other, if you want to try one as I said I think I have 4 we can arrange to send one for the postage. 2nd class is £2.20 for that sort of weight & size, they don't go through the slot
Would help if both of you were on PayPal but not insurmountable if not. Drop me a mail with details jeffreywye@aol.com, I think it's on my profile. Cheers |

Mines a rear drag so no good thanks. What a lovely little reel though, got mine last week. Bargain from snags tackle. Had quite a range of reels and have been more than happy with my shimano 2500st's which i've upgraded with twin handles and more bearings. Couldn't resist buying one of these after seeing them advertised in the A.T. Honestly, I thought Okuma were a cheap for a reason but this is one sweet little reel. Line lay on par (actually better shh) with my shimanos. Smooth action and feels solid (metal handle not plastic) Being picky I could say i'd prefer a better line clip as the round ones are so much better and the grease inside is a little thick and slows the reel down till it's run in or changed to thinner (usually do this to get rid of the stiff transit grease) but have vowed to leave this one alone. Definately worth a look if you're after a match type feeder reel.

I've had a couple of Okuma Epix EB30 baitrunners for at least 10 years now. Great reels, have taken a fair old bashing in their time (my Son and Daughter borrowed them to do some sea fishing when they went down to Cornwall a couple of years ago and put a few marks in the paintwork) but they still work like new. Really smooth action, line lay is superb (just reloaded them for this season). If they were still available today I'd buy another pair in a heartbeat.
