Good Catch - Nice fish on the pole.
I love the sedges - Fished a match last saturday on Brick.
Jamie & Denise are nice people and run a great Fishery.

Give a man a fish and feed him for a day.

Teach a man to fish and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

Two completely different matches Sunday and yesterday. Sunday top two on Tile, peg 40 won with 60LB (Inc 15+ carp) peg 27 58+, Peg 21 40+
peg 34 39+(won silvers 25+ inc 5lb Tench) peg 29 36+(me) carp arrived last hour, so on the way to qualifying for final on August Bank Holiday, good match for just 3meters.
Monday old farts silvers on Brick, 75lb, 64lb, 30lb, 29, 28lb(me) mostly skimmers etc what a great silvers match but I could not get things right on the day, my new home made floats and rigs kept tangling and ended up trying to put too much bait in to catch up and .....carp! Enjoyed it though.
Can't make Thursday night again! Get there one day, open on Saturday 16th, won't be there but just put the word around
Kids on pegs 7, 8, & 9 catching plenty with buzzers going all day!
Bye

Well, that has blown the cobwebs away.Chose to fish peg 59 on the canal pond as it offered the most cover with the wind off my back.Started down the middle with 2 lines,on one i fed micro and softened 6mm on the other using expanders on the hook.Caught a simmilar amount of mainly skimmers for a couple of hours over both lines but foul hooked 5 or 6 fish all over the micro line.Maybe they were blowing the smaller pellets up in the water causing the liners.Had been pinging hard 6's into a small bay against the island and by now the carp were slurping the pellets against the grass.Fished a rig about 10" deep as tight as i could get with banded 8mm,and caught 30 odd carp between 1 and 4lb until the wind got to strong at about 2pm.Packed up then for fear of breaking my pole, the pole was saved but my brolly fell to bits.A good session considering the weather,12lb of silvers and about 45 to 50lb of carp.Might try tile pond next week.

The silvers weights on mondays match on Brick were good, over 70lb won and few weight between 50 and 70lb....

Tonight wasnt so easy, wind strong, fish iffy and i tipped back one carp(7 or 8lb), 4 bream/skimmers and few smaller skimmers and a 12oz eel. Peg 1 had some carp and couple guys had around half a dozen poo. Think Vince had a fair few bream/skimmers after arriving late....again. He has a habit of turning up late and winning or coming 2nd.....

Back on the same peg as last week, 59 on the canal.Started at the bottom of the far shelf fishing corn over micro and corn, trying to avoid the hand sized skimmers i was catching last week on expanders. This worked quite well as the first 12 fish caught were all pound plus, tench, carp, crucians and skimmers.I had a look on this line several times over the session and still caught each put in.The bulk of todays weight came from up on the shelf and shallow firing 6mm's with banded 8 as bait.In total 20 carp for about 30lb,and 40lb of silvers including 25 crucians all about the pound mark.
Love this pond as you never know what the next fish will be,caught carp, crucians, tench, skimmers, goldfish, fantails, rudd and roach today all quality fish.

i finished every match, but with weather being poo recently, i dont see point waiting to weigh for nowhere. Just to get wet.

13 fished tonight.
I had peg 33 tonight. I didnt have any rigs deep enough for more than top kit out. Set up method and pellet wag. Had none on either.
So fished top kit out with 6mm meat. I had 29lb+ of carp and around 6lb of silvers i think.
75lb+ won from halfway up road bank inc a 16lber. Then Keith Clapp had 45lb-sh from the 1st corner peg on causeway and Tom Magnall two pegs along had next highest. So i was in 2nd upto the last 2 to weigh in.

Was bloomin very very wet when packing up, dont think i qualified for any money, just wanted get home to eat and get my kit out to dry etc....rain was silly heavy.

Saturdays match on tile should be ok, i hope.

Another windy match today, luckily the rain never amounted to anything.

Fished Tile, Eric won with around 88lb peg 33, P.Clapp second with 55lb corner peg 21, Then a 44lb weight then me 38lb from peg 38.
I was 3rd in silvers and won section by default, my weight was nr 12lb silvers and 4 carp for 26lb+ (2 little ones, 2 doubles)

Anything over 5 sections was hard going, i think the top 3 weights were mostly method caught carp.

Roll on next week, tues apex, thurs canal at sedges.

Then the following week its the pete hodge memorial, 2 day affair. Jamie said earlier there were 3 or 4 spaces if anyone wants to join, plenty of prizes.

been a touch patchy, probably this random weather periods we have been having. But the blogs(i read earlier yesterday etc), show what pegs produce most of the time.
Next weekend(30th/1st july) should be interesting......

Finding it hopeless to get there on Monday or Thursday as I usually did and I'm supposed to be retired!
Look forwrd to the memorial as always, might get down on a Friday for a litle chuck or two on
Tile because don't use the method very often, Eric has gone onto the banjo but I couldn't make it work properley, need practise.

Should be float only eh? method/banjo fishing it pants....lol
Pellet wag aint far behind in dull stakes either.......thankfully i have yet to have a fish on either over sedges, but aint really bothered, seem to be doing ok-ish on the pole.

This thurs its the canal lake, so can leave the rods at home.
