I have caught well over 1000lb of fish on this pole now and it has never missed a heart beat to be fair. From fishing 13m and 14.5m shallow with 18lb plus carp dragging the pole tip under the water to fishing margins at 13m and having to ship back at crazy angles to get the fish out. The pole has been to the point of breaking (well I thought it was going to) and never.

Fished a lot at 3m, 5m , and 7m again in tight margins where you have to ship back quickly otherwise you loose the fish in a snag or under the next platform. It just bends nicely

Im glad I stuck with Maver and brought this pole, its been a joy to use so far. If you dont think you need 16m pole and fish commercials for carp of all sizes this pole will suit you

Used my elite paste fishing in the margin with heavy elastic,
Brilliant I managed to keep every fish hooked from going to a snag.
It worried me as with my other maver poles I always used to have problems shipping back with the double figure munters.
But with the elite as long as the hook holds you can feel the poles power in the mid sections making it much easier to get them under control.

Gileskev - have you used it for the big wild things at Staunton. I made the assumption that as you are from Gloucestershire that you would fish the place

Hi Chris,
I wouldn't like to use any pole to catch really powerful carp.
I think some folks believe that carp poles are going to bag up on 30 pounders all day long.
Course we all know that's never going to happen.
I'm not saying this elite couldn't land the big fish because it probably can to a limited degree.
I'd say compared to many match poles with power kits the elite & other high end carp poles would simply stand up better to the week in week out bagging on commies.
Joints are much stronger reinforced wrap on the sections slightly stronger walls & longer 13 & 14 metre sections to keep a slim profile.
Not sure if others would agree.
Haven't fished staunton in over 20 yrs lol.

Hello mates. I'm a new member here and I'm looking for an answer to the question: if elite carp and E river carp are indeed the same poles, why does the weight stated in the catalogue is so different? (13m - elite:964g; e river carp:1050g) I'm searching for a proper tool to catch carp of any size and the question seems important. cheers

A difference in graphics can account for an unbelievable amount of grams, think I saw a saving of 24 grammes recently just through not spraying a butt section. I suspect that someone has said that they are the same pole as they used the same mandrels, but if the quality of carbon is even slightly different it will account for the difference in weight.

I have used mine a few times now. Landed an 8lbs carp on very light elastic on a match the other week and it handled it with no trouble.

Elite carp - an outstanding pole for the money. Granted its heavier than a normal pole and you will 'feel' it in your upper body adter 5 hours if you fish it long all day but its blooming strong and dispels the weak sections ghat most people associate maver with
Ive dragged barbel out of stick ups and had 8lb carp with ease and felt no give in it at all

I was expecting it to go at 14.5m but its more than useable
