Would any one be interested in forming a little group to share knowledge/experience with regard to homemade bait making?

Just for fun, homemade supermarket style bait trials.

My current area to explore is Unami, The 5th flavour. Google it, quite an interesting read.

Today's went well, coconut milk pumped expanders are very popular with skimmers and F1's it seems!

Count me in. I'm an ex- research chemist, and I constantly play with baits...have been doing for a decade. Only if I can try one of my weird additives on you though...

I only saw it once - difficult to guess its make up, although it looked to me like CSL powder.

However, I've had good success using betaine powder. Careful when using betaine as its hygroscopic and takes on water, so keep it in an air tight container.

I have some CSL powder down in the garage; if you want a sample I'm happy to post one.

Its rude to keep secrets And it has been known that your ears grow very big and your nose start to form the shape of a penis if you dont share them

Really? I've never seen a person with a nose the shape of a penis. So I guess that means there are no secrets anywhere :)

Indeed it does. I can't fathom out why people would buy green dye, when you can use something which actually has attractive properties to it...

It's also known that birdlife have difficulty seeing darker baits, so adding spirulina to boilie mixes for example, has multiple benefits.

Kelp meal is also quite a neat additive - have used this a few time for added "crunch" and vitamin profile.

yes i have some kelp meal too but have never found any real difference to my catch rate. the other benefit of spirulina when enough is added, is that it actually attracts natural food into the area where your bait is
