Exceptional service from all the staff but particularly Phil.

I was in the market for a new pole and he talked me through each pole and let me have a feel of them all before i made my mind up.

Phil worked through his lunch and elasticated all the kits there and then. I was in a rush as i hadnt made my mind up which pole to go for until the very last minute.

Well done guys :o)

For those who care i went for the Prestons GXR2001.

What did you compare the GXR2001 against? I am looking for a pole in this price range and have held a MAP TKS 625 and a Daiwa Connoisseur G20, did you hold any of these?

2012 targets(and looking like 2013)

10 lb Barbel
6 lb Bream
5 lb Tench

They were the 2 I compared strangely enough as well as the Sensas 734. Didnt like the balance of the Map or the Sensa's compared to the other 2.

The Preston and the G20 are very very similar. But Preston was around £300 cheaper and with a better package so that swung it for me.

Ordered lots of bits from Ted Carter on a sunday night a couple of weeks ago,got e-mail next day to say order being dealt with, had text message on tuesday at 12.38 pm to say goods were being dispatched, this company is so good, they have even mastered time travel because the package was actually delivered at 9.37 am the same day, 3 hours before being dispatched!!! Order was missing a half extension for my new pole,e-mail sent,Lewis from T.C rang to apologise, ordered one straight away, delivered a few days later. Absolutely brilliant service from a top company, will be getting more of my business for sure

I agree with you greentura. It is a 'proper' tackle shop.My eyes nearly popped out of my head when I walked in.Their stock is vast. They had every rod I'd been looking at on the internet.Like Santas grotto for anglers.

I've used them since the mid sixties when the shop was a fraction of the size it is now and I've always had good service. And only living three miles away it's handy as well.

Went last week and hung around till Phil had his lunch, he then took the time to show me set up on the whip using slider float. The thing that impressed me the most, he took the time to explain everything in detail.

Top Bloke and top shop.

Simon.
