how high roughly would the apex of the roof of a normal 2 story house be as i cant find an answer on google.

basically i have a house i need to reach the top of an apex on that will have to be accessed by scaffold tower and i need to know what height i need to hire in to reach safely and i cant think of a way to measure it easily.

thanks

depends on the style of the house mate. My house's gable is 23 ft. Easy way to measure is measure floor to ceiling, mine is
ground floor = 8 ft
up stairs = 8ft
loft = floor to centre of apex 7 ft

total = 23 ft

Count the bricks in the wall.

An average brick is 4" wide.Then work out the height.

i.e if you have 100bricks from ground to apex thats 400" divide by 12= 33ft and 3"

if its a victorian style house you could be talking 30ft.
60s/70s/80s houses between 22ft and 27ft as stated above.

We've got a Boss scaffold tower with a working height of 8.2m and this is tall enough to manage most gable ends even with my little legs lol

Make sure you get a decent footage on one if you're going to work at that height as it makes it more stable - ours is 8'x4'

...and don't forget your PASMA training

I had training years ago im sure its out of date but i know what i'm doing the one i found a price for was 7.5m so that'll do for quote purposes. The one i've seen is 6' x 4' plus then the outrigger legs.

Another money making rip off scheme disigned to make make training companies more money and rip the poor worker off. Same as IPAF or cscs and all the other of these rip off courses.

All the HSE states is that the tower must be erected by a trained and compitant person and only used by a compitant person.
