Fished last Saturday and emptied in, fished this Saturday and had one bite, fish spawning, started foul hooking fish so packed in to leave fish in peace.
I think fishery owners should shut the lakes when the fish are spawning |

I am at Blyton on holiday. During the day hard fishing, but first thing in the morning and after 6 at night fishing really picks up.
11 carp in under and hour this evening. None of any size. |

Not sure how that would work as the fish seem to spawn at different times... When I fished last week the bream were spawning, but the carp and tench weren't. This week the carp were spawning but the bream and tench weren't. Owners would have to close mixed species fisheries for weeks on end... which they won't like for finacial reasons.
That is true, it was the bream that were spawning (mostly) on Saturday the carp had just finished round 1 and were in the margins knackered.
The fish can spawn for up to 3 weeks when conditions are right but there will be certain days when it is just evident that the fish are spawning, it is these days that I would shut the lake. |

How long do carp usually spawn for? Im guessing it probably varies depending on weather and water temp? I didn't have much luck on Saturday but was hoping on another day session on my local commercial next Wednesday or Thursday. Regards |
