In the last few days I've been listening to albums by this lot:
The Joy Formidable
Smashing Pumpkins
Yuck
Dinosaur JR
The National
The Stone Roses
& Silversun Pickups.
Pretty much sums up the music I generally listen to. Add into that a bit of mod, ska & the odd hip hop (mainly Snoop) and thats mainly it.

My favourite stuff is sixties rock/pop/soul. I also like quite a wide range of classical music, and soundtracks from musicals such as South Pacific, West Side Story etc. And a bit of Gerge Formby.

Anything except modern jazz - mmm, nice.

And when I'm feeling too happy with life, a little Leonard Cohen or Nick Drake soon restores the balance.

No favourites, I have a totally eclectic mix of CDs. Classical to cajun, Opera to Elvis, Musicals to C&W.

Easier to say I don't like blues.

My all time favourite band is....

I'm not going to say but here's the intro..

Woe to You Oh Earth and Sea,
for the Devil sends the beast with wrath,
because he knows the time is short,
Let him who hath understanding,
reckon the number of the beast,
for it is a human number,

its number is six hundred and sixty six.

After that it's Rainbow, Sabbath, Led Zep, Purple, Whitesnake (till they reformed and went all girlie) AC DC,

I must admit to being out of it on acid in My early days listening to Tangerine Dreams, Stratosfear, Floyds, Dark Side of the Moon, King Crimsons, Court of the Crimson King,

Hard rock gets a bit too `samey` for me.
My most listened to track ;- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YpAp...ture=related
Written on the fields of Flanders during WW1. The short version. When I`ve dried my eyes I play this :- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FwUN...ture=related There are two further parts to enjoy!
part 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=scuhTWQ842M
