has anyone any information about fishing the river salwarpe at claines -worcester-.......does anyone know if there is many barbel in this stretch of river and what are the best tactics for fishing for them..........cheerz

this stretch is birmingham AA water, was very slow when i was there in heatwave. As far as i know its more of a refuge from the severn in winter for roach especially. lots of perch and bream in the hole around the mouth. I caught barbel to 7lb at the mouth casting well out into the main river. tight lines!!

when it starts to flood on the salwarpe, try a stickfloat & maggots you dont know what might bite next
