Matt,

Your plight with the kinking hair rig have you tried a small twisted loop - a minitaure of that typically used when feeder fishing?

I must point out at this point that I have not tried it myself yet!!

I haven't tried a twisted loop yet nor the braid idea but it is ideas like this that I want to investigate but still keep it simple if possible.

I think that if the hair kinks then the direction that the hook pulls in is effected on the strike. If the pellet is behind the hook then the whole purpose of the knotless knot and hair maybe lost.

I have tried trapping the hair on the shank with silicon but the line just cuts through it. I have tried whipping the hair below as well as above on the shank but this doesn't help. Maybe it only works for the speci-hunters with really thick line.

I will continue to play around with this problem so thanks for the ideas!
