Got a budget of £250 for a new pole. Not a great deal of money i know, but all that I can cobble together at the minute to get me back on the bank. :)
Mainly fish commercials, but starting to do a few matches on canals etc. so must be useable for that too.
Any advice/links welcome :)
Ollie.

| is a tough one, you may have more luck secondhand. I was going to suggest one of the longer margin poles (like the 11.5m garbolino one) until I saw for canals too. Alsp depends on how far out you intend to fish. Realistically you won't get above 14.5m I wouldn't think, and would be better with a 13m IMO. My local sheltons of peterborough are doing the 13m shimano technium xtb at just over the £250 budget.Maybe a MAP TKS 125, again slightly over but shop around you might find someone who'd elasticate it FOC so it would at least recoup the extra money. Fosters of brum worth a look, as is the fishermans friend ad in matych fishing. Your choice is limited though, good luck whatever you choose. |

I'd recommend this and if you buy it from here make sure you scroll down and click for a free roller or free rod ( I'd pick the roller you could buy the rod for £20 ) |

| Look for ovation leisure for a TKS125.......... cheapest i could find............ also MAP are doing the extra top kit deal again so when you register the pole for warrenty they'll send another top kit!!! usually a power top. |

You ll be surprised what you can get for your money 2nd hand, BUT be careful to do a bit of research to see if you can still get spare parts and top kits.
Saying that, unless you smash the sections to bits, you can get them repaired relatively cheaply these days
A mate of mine just got himself a cracking 16m pole with about 7 top kits for £270 (new, a few years ago, it was nearly a grands worth)
Top kits are still floating about, and the odd spare section.

Thanks for all your help!!
After the advice, I decided to go to the shop and look at a few different ones. Ended up with the Technium, for 299, which included 3 top kits, full set of luggage and a nice little shimano reel! Cant complain at that!!
Thanks, Ollie |
