I was told yesterday of a lake behind a Volvo garage just north of the Black Cat Roundabout on the A1 (Cambridgeshire). Anyone have any info?

I think they might mean Wyboston Lakes. I'm afraid I don't know anything about it. I've just passed it many times whilst visiting relatives.

Fishing rights are covered by Luton Angling Club. There are 2 lakes and a stretch of the river Ouse. One lake is members and day ticket, and the other lake is members only.

See here http://www.lutonac.org/South%20Lagoon.htm

I don't think thats Wyboston Lakes, i know where the Volvo Garage is & Wyboston is on the otherside of the A1. although the garage is at the A1 exit which leads to Wyboston.

Sorry, that's my fault for not knowing the area. I've just been on Google Maps and whilst Wyboston lakes is the main fishing area in the locality, there is also a small lake behind the garage (bottom left):

Would that be the one you were told about Neil?

That would seem to be it.

I was really wondering if the owners took club bookings and did it fish well as I would recommend it to my match sec. if it were reasonable.

That might possibly be Gingerbread Lake whose rights are owned by Biggleswade & Hitchin Angling Club see here http://www.bighitaa.co.uk/new/our-waters/
