got permits for a couple of mates while working at cottam, early summer last year (permits actually from the club at west burton). Their idea of fishing is to chuck out a jampot feeder, full of pellet, usinga couple of 8mm pellets hair rigged to a 10 hook. Apparently, this is the method for the enormous and plentiful barbel in this area; best time seems to be when it's carrying extra water, a few metres extra being best - really! Having said that, only one of 'em has actually tried it thus far, and had one fish of around 9lb. Be warned, though, it seems the access gate is permanently locked, and it's quite a walk.
