Firswood Fisheries in Skelmersdale has two lakes full of fish. Lots of tench to 6lb, carp, roach, chub, bream. Corn and pellet are a great bait. Day tickets on the bank.

Sandhall Ponds, a quiet idyllic water comprising of three ponds which are all interlinked. Sandhall provides superb carp fishing with Mirror and Common Carp close to 20lbs although a lot of Tench are present which are well worth targeting, as they go to the magical 8lb mark. A sprinking of other mixed coarse fish are present in Sandhall ponds.

Just off the Shap Road on the outskirts of Kendal is an established fishery holding good stocks of large Tench to 9lb Perch to 4lb & Rudd. In the summer months lily pads thrive & strong tackle may be required. The tarn is registered as a site of special scientific interest SSSI & is not suitable for stocking of other species. New platforms & a walkway have been constructed in April 2011 with help from English Nature making this a vastly improved fishery. Due to the depth of water under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.
