With all the lakes they have there, my Favourite was the 'Float Lake'
The main species in this lake is the Golden Tench. Although it holds Golden Carp, Golden Orfe, Golden Rudd, Goldfish, Koi, most of these were proving elusive, but the Tench were being caught in vast numbers.
Bait was a cocktail of Maggot & Sweetcorn, and I trickle fed some corn and maggots into a little margin next to some lilypads.
The first fish I pulled out was this little Goldfish, quite pretty I thought.
I pulled a lot of small fish out, and then the Tench started to move in on the corn & maggots.
This was the first (and also my first ever Golden Tench) And then they just started coming...
Then the rod bent over and the next Tench gave me a good 10 minute fight, (I had 4lb line on and was ledgering with a size 12 hook tied direct to main line)
And this was the result...It weighed in at around 3lb 8oz and I was overjoyed at such a beautiful fish
All in all, I had a fantastic week, I also have another film to develop as yet which has some Carp & Blue Orfe that I caught, I will send these when I have them.
I highly recommend AP, a very good venue.
