| National fishing week 2001 National fishing Week is in its tenth year. Festive Week. Fishing week is traditionally the last 10 days of August, ending in the bank Holiday Monday. This year it is from the 18th to 27th August The Two Main Aims of National Fishing Week 2001 To improve the lifestyle of Disabled people, Youngsters, Women, retired people, in fact anyone and everyone by introducing them to Angling as a relaxing, therapeutic and environmentally friendly pastime. To increase individual commitment to, and participation in the conservation and enhancement of water resources Secondary Aims To introduce young people to a sport they can enjoy for the rest of there life. Angling is one of the most enjoyable pastimes in the world. It teaches children about wildlife, the importance of a clean environment and provides healthy entertainment for all ages. As with most activities it is good to learn young and learn correctly. Our aim is to teach children the right way to fish and through that, how to care for the environment. Insurance All official national fishing week events are covered by insurance. All participants who turn up should fill in a registration form. Rod Licences A group licence covers all Events, as long as there is a qualified coach in attendance.
