Chatsworth Angling Fair |
The annual Chatsworth angling fair has been postponed for 5 months. Foot and mouth disease yet again makes it's presence felt in the world away from the river banks. The new revised dates are the 20th and 21st of October 2001. The Chatsworth Estate, near Bakewell, Derbyshire has held the fair for 21 years and hopes to exceed the success of last years show, with another fantastic line-up of events, demonstrations by celebrity anglers. Amongst those names are four times world champion Bob Nudd, carp angler Chris Ball, Ian Heaps, Paul Arden and Dr Barrie Rickards. Professional commitments allowing, Bernard Cribbins, himself a life-long angler will be giving the commentary for an introduction to family fishing by Charles Jardine, followed by an important safety demonstration. British surf casters will be demonstrating their techniques in the new extended casting area as the ability to cast over 300 metres is not now the domain of only a few. There will be casting demonstrations, fly-casting competitions on the River Derwent, along with a fly-tying marquee. Over 150 trade stands and rural crafts will be attending alongside the bring and buy tackle and antique tackle stands. Advanced ticket sales are £6 per person but cheques and SAE must be received before Monday 8th October at the latest.
